Cylindro-Conical Single Shaft Mixer/Dryer - Type CCM/D
BOLZ-SUMMIX did develop a new mixer and dryer type with a cylindro-conical vessel shape and a specialized single & central located shaft agitation tool with optimized material flow and product movement. The lower conical section offers a complete product discharge. The upper cylindrical vessel offers a wide flexibility with respect to the operational volume but also a gentle mixing for basic and well specified applications, preferably for mono-product process units.
But not only a gentle and intense mixing had been guiding requirements for the new design, but also the need of a complete & residue free discharge, an effective but also efficient cleanability did lead us to a comprehensive sanitary design. Each one being a basic requirement for a successful mixing or drying process.
A good supplement to the conventional well proven orbital arm, suitable to enlarge the established BOLZ-SUMMIX product range in a positive way, allowing to suit more basic and robust applications in combination with more simplified and less cost intensive maintenance but some minor concessions to product and process flexibility, mainly when already an optimized central shaft equipment may process a product in a sufficient way or where the compact construction of the unit may offer special advantages.
A simulation of product displacement in the equipment based on theoretical evaluation, but also practical trials in a test unit will allow a safe process forecast and customized layout.
Our own experience with current equipment, close cooperation with our Dutch sister company Jongia, well experienced in mixing technology, but also recognized customer problems or their latest requirements did influence the final design.
Compared to more simplified vertical shaft or helix systems we did not take a risk to sacrifice gentle blending, the excellent mixing or final product quality just for reason of simplification. Well-engineered mixers & dryers are currently available in operational sizes from 50 to 8.000 litres and variable materials. Bigger sizes are under construction.
